Warm Fuzzy in a Bowl

Name: Cauliflower Soup
Where do I get ? www.thepioneer
woman.com
Cost: free recipe
Why I love it:
I like cauliflower, and I love cream of cauliflower soup. This recipe is simple, easy and fantastic. It is not going to qualify as light and healthy, but the butter and cream are worth it. I loaded my soup up with extra pepper and hubby added cheese. This is a great soup to warm the soul on a really cold day in the deep of winter. Give it a try, and check out her other recipes, she is a cooking wizard!

A Fantastic Food Experience

Name: Chipotle
Where do I get ? www.chipotle.com
Cost: about $7
Why I love it:
I have been questioning the service sector recently with some less than stellar service. Today I had the most pleasant experience at a restaurant and I need to tell you about it. We stopped in at our nearby Chipotle for lunch. The staff were extremely happy, the service was quick and precise and my food was great. The restaurant was very clean too. I love it when the stars and moons align for a great dining out experience! Thanks Chipotle, I'll be back.

Why I love it:
Compliments. Plain and simple. Every time I whip up a batch of these everyone oohs and ahhs over them. They are perfect and fantastic. Easy peasy to make and have never let me down. And, for you bargain hunters, watch your local Aldi shelves, because they sell them on occasion for under $2.00!

Superb Chicken

Name: Pretty Chicken Marinade
Where do I get ? www.allrecipes.com
Cost: Free!

Why I love it:
This has become my new favorite marinade for chicken. It really is pretty right off the grill. It smells wonderful. I add a little extra hot mustard and go easy on the liquid smoke. If needed, it can be cut up and put in a slow cooker for parties. I always get compliments on this chicken and people want the recipe. So, here it is!

I Like It Spicy

Name: Cheesecake Factory's Louisiana
Chicken Recipe
Where do I get ? www.recipezaar.com
Cost: Free

Why I love it:
We order this when we go out to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. It is always more than enough to serve two people and is ridiculously scrumptious. I tried this recipe and it is a very close match. It has a kick, so tone down the crushed red pepper if you don't love it spicy.

Comfort Food

Name: Turano French Rolls
Where do I get ? www.turanobaking.com
Cost: around $ 4.00 for a pack of 6

Why I love it:
This is a treat in our house. These French Rolls are a little pricey, but oh so worth it. We toast them up making the best tuna melts and garlic cheesy bread. They are light, soft and perfect. Stick them in the freezer and take one out at a time. Delicious.

Get the Chorizo

Name: La Merenda Restaurant
Where do I get ? www.lamerenda125.com
Cost: around $50 for table for 2 (wine included)

Why I love it:
I get excited when I find a new (to me) place that has great service, incredible food and a lovely atmosphere. It is the grand slam for me! This casual tapas bar makes me really happy. While out with 3 girlfriends, we tried 9 different items and had a bottle of wine. Our bill was less than $100 not including tip. It was the best food I have had in a very long time, and everything about the service was top notch. Did I mention that Monday nights bottles of wine are 50% off? Go, please.

Muffin-A-Holic

Name: To Die For Blueberry Muffins
Where do I get ? www.allrecipes.com
Cost: free

Why I love it:
Let's hypothetically say I were to stumble upon the best muffin recipe ever. Would I really make two batches in two days? The answer is, oh yes I would! These are the most wonderful blueberry muffins I have ever eaten. They are the perfect blend of sweet and tart. The crunchy crumbly topping is just perfect and each batch makes a dozen. Six for me, and six for hubby!

Who Cares about Joey?

Name: Joey's Peanut Butter Cookies Recipe
Cost: free

If you like your peanut butter cookies soft and chewy in the middle with a hint of crisp on the outside, than this is the perfect cookie for you. My entire family gave it a two thumbs up, that means something! It is super easy to make and clean up is a breeze. You should make them as soon as possible, and invite me over if you do.

Oh How I Wish I Liked Lobster

Name: Catch A Piece of Maine
Cost: quite pricey

Where do I get it? www.catchapieceofmaine.com

Why I love it:

I heard a report today that featured these young ambitious men, and I was instantly hooked. My only problem is that I don't like seafood at all. But I get excited when I hear about a long standing tradition (Lobster men) that is dwindling due to the increasing cost of operating. These entrepreneurs will send you the best catch of the day. No middle man, no wholesaler, straight from their boat to you. And my favorite part, the Lobster Man who caught your lobster will personally CALL YOU to make sure you are happy and to see if you have any questions. Rock on Lobster men, you might make me a seafood lover after all.

A New Twist On An Old Standby

Name: Grilled Chicken and Creamy Corn
Cost: around $5.00 to make

Where do I get it? directions at www.bhg.com

Why I love it:

So I am sitting in my dentist's office waiting to pick up hubby. Here was a recipe in Better Homes and Garden that called out to me. We eat loads of chicken in this house, and I love finding new ways to prepare it. The corn is out of this world, and it just so happens that I have a basil plant getting huge in my garden. We have had this recipe about 4 times in the last month, and every time I make it, I get happy.

My Banana's are still yellow!

Name: Green Bags
Cost: around $10

Where do I get it? www.greenbags.com

Why I love it:

I get so frustrated when the wonderfully ripe fruit I purchase goes bad so quick. I have been using these bags for a week now, and my bananas are still yellow! I think these work well to keep fruit a little longer and I am hoping to lessen the amount I toss to being over ripe. Man, I love things that work like they advertise!

My greatest find this year so far!

Name: Aldi Food Stores
Cost: varies

Where do I get it? www.ald
ifoods.com
Why I love it:

I am getting my groceries now for 30-50% off what I was spending at my local grocery stores. The food is excellent, the stores are simple and clean. I can fill up 4 Chico Bags full of groceries for less than $40. Some things I completely reccomend: chips, milk, eggs, produce, flowers, frozen foods like waffles, bacon, sausages and ice cream. They do have some name brand items too, but the store brand items have been as good as the name brand stuff we were getting before. Bring your own bags, and a quarter to "rent" a cart (you get your qutarter back when you return the cart). Seriously, go check it out. It is crazy how cheap it is!

Scrumptious

Name: Organic Flax Plus Granola
Cost: around $7.00 for a huge box

Where do I get
it? Sam's Club
Why I love it:

While casually strolling through Sam's club one day, we decided to try some of this granola from the little old lady who was manning the silver cart loaded with granola. I am not really a tree hugger, or completely Earthy, but this stuff rocks. Every person in my family loved it and we went back for a second Dixie cup full. It is perfect on cereal, bananas. strawberries or by itself. Yummy!

Seriously, Blue Bunny

Name: Blue Bunny Ice Cream - Chocolate
Cost: $4

Where do I get
it? www.bluebunny.com
Why I love it:

Late last night I had a craving. I needed something sweet and chocolaty. I found the answer in my freezer. This ice cream is so smooth and creamy. Hubby bought it by accident, and now it is a staple in my freezer. I have always been loyal to other brands, but now I am loyal to a blue bunny. Seriously loyal to a bunny.

Yummy in a Bottle

Name: Absolut New Orleans
Cost: $22

Where do I get
it? www.absolut.com/us
Why I love it:

We hosted a party this past weekend, and some wonderfully insightful guest brought this to share. Absolut has created an incredibly flavorful vodka with a hint of mango and black pepper. Doesn't sound like it would be good, but put it with some Cran-Tangerine juice and this goes down way too easy. Next time you are out, try it, you won't be disappointed!
